Lika Kulijanishvili a student of School Education, Humanities and Social sciences, Participated in The Global UGRAD Exchange

“I am Lika Kuljanishvili, a senior IBSU student majoring in International Relations. Last year I was nominated as the GlobalUGRAD2024 exchange student and had a scintillating opportunity to study at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

The program is fully funded by the U.S. Department of State and assists undergraduate students from all around the world to study in the U.S. for one semester. Studying political science in America and coping with all academic challenges could be arduous without IBSU and especially some of my devoted IBSU professors.

Getting international-level education in Georgia truly assisted me to get a 4.00 GPA in my host university. Besides my academic performance, I had a chance to be a radio show host, conduct podcasts about Georgia, and contribute to spreading Georgian culture, language, and traditions within the United States.

Apart from that, I’ve been helping my international adviser with the U.S. Tax Protocol workshops, and helping non-resident international students with tax issues. These several months were a turning point in my personal and professional life.

UGRAD will always remain a zeitgeist period of my life. I will always remember how, at 20 years old, I travelled in 7 states of the U.S., acculturated with different people, while also voraciously studying American and world politics.”
