Luka Rakviashvili a student of School of Computer Science and Architecture, Participated in the Erasmus+ Exchange Program of The University College of Enterprise and Administration.

I am Luka Rakviashvili, a senior student of
English sector computer science. In the past
semester representatives of the University of
Applied Sciences in Dresden visited IBSU and
delivered presentations about their studies
and programs they majored in. After the
presentation, we had an opportunity to ask
questions. I was so mesmerized by how
developed their university was, that I asked
how I could apply to be an exchange student
in HTW Dresden. The IRO and HTW Dresden
delegation were very supportive and
explained the details in depth about how to
apply for this exchange program. After some
preparations here I am in Dresden.

Travelling to another country for the first time is quite a new experience. Getting
lost in the airport and walking in circles till you find your way to the dormitory is a
must for all exchange students to experience. The first few days felt like being
buried alive in all the necessary papers that needed to be filled out. Fortunately, by
the end of the first week, everything is done and you focus on the new friends and
the university.
HTW Dresden is a marvellous university. Students, administrative staff and
professors are amazing and very friendly to get along with. Even building makes you
feel comfortable. They also have lectures which last 3 hours, but the major
difference is that German universities start lectures at 07:30… It will be hard to
adapt, but if there is something Georgians learned after all the centuries of
struggle, it is how to adapt to the new environment.
I look forward to the future and wonder what wonders will HTW Dresden and
Germany awaits me.
