Gvanca Basilashvili a student of School Education, Humanities and Social Sciences Participated in The Erasmus+ Exchange Program of the Eötvös Loránd University
IBSU Student of English Philology Gvantsa Basilashvili studied at Eotov Lorand University in Hungary on a one-year exchange program, although her student life there did not end there, and now we are telling you how he got into the summer school of the European University of Flensburg:
“While on an exchange program in Hungary, my host university announced a summer school scholarship at the European University of Flensburg. The program was funded by the DAAD and to participate one had to submit an application along with a cover letter and a mark sheet. A few weeks after sending the documents, I received a positive response and so I left for Germany.
The theme of the summer school was the changing role of education in Europe and included workshops on different teaching methods. I had the opportunity to attend Swedish, German, Hungarian and Danish language classes. Also in the evenings such activities as city tour, beach walk were planned. Activities that helped participants get to know each other and the city better.
Since in IBSU, along with English philology, I also study the subjects of the teacher training program, this course was very interesting and informative for me. Within the framework of the project, we visited the schools, attended the teaching process and talked to the staff working there. But that’s not all – Flensburg is a city close to the Danish border, and the university gave us the opportunity to move to the Danish city and visit the local school, where we were able to participate in the learning process.
The summer school lasted only a few days, but I left there full of great experience and emotions.
I would advise every student to overcome all barriers and get the experience of living and getting an education abroad. And for that, it is necessary to choose IBSU, because it really gives every student this important opportunity.”
