Mary Tseruashvili a student of School Education, Humanities and Social Sciences Participated in Exchange mobility at the University of Šiauliai.
I had a desire to study abroad in a multicultural environment since childhood. During my enrollment period, I chose #IBSU for this very purpose, because I realized all the opportunities that IBSU would give me if I put it as my first priority.
I decided to participate in the exchange program in the first semester of the third year. As a result of the review of the application and the interview, it was decided that I would spend the second semester of the third year at the University of Lithuania, namely at the University of Šiauliai. Every year, the university receives a large number of exchange students from all over the world. During my time there, students were represented from Europe as well as Asian and African countries.
I would distinguish a learning environment from the university life, which was partially different from the learning environment of IBSU. There was one subject in which we were given not only lectures, but consultations, and based on these consultations, we had to write several academic papers during the semester. However, there were subjects in which we had to give presentations or participate in various activities every week. Based on this, it can be said that each lecturer had an individual approach to working with students. To summarize my university life, I really liked the analytical lectures, which are an integral part of the European system.
As part of the exchange program, I took part in the international scientific conference, which was crowned by winning the first place in the section.
Finally, one of the most important things that my time in Lithuania has given me is the many friends I have made from all over the world and the adventures I have had with them. During this time, I had the opportunity to travel to 9 European countries and 15 cities and get to know the culture and social life not only of Lithuania, but also of other countries.
I can confidently say that participating in the exchange program was one of my best decisions. If a student wants to live in a multicultural environment, develop different skills and make a lot of friends from different countries of the world, then this is an opportunity that cannot be missed.
